What 400 Indian Technology Company Websites Tell Us

Counts from the TechRank directory: where the companies are, what services and technologies they state, and how many mention AI.

By TechRank Research · · 6 min read

TechRank lists technology companies that show an Indian office or address on their own websites. On 17 October 2026 the directory had 401 published profiles. Every number below is a count of those profiles, taken from what each company says on its own website. This is not a survey of all Indian technology companies and it is not a ranking: the directory grows by city and by submitted lists, so it is not a random sample of the industry.

Where the companies are

Jaipur has the most profiles with 80, followed by Delhi NCR (63), Bengaluru (48), Mumbai (45), Pune (40), Chennai (38), Ahmedabad (37), Hyderabad (34) and Kolkata (16). These counts reflect how far the directory has been built in each city. Read them as coverage, not as the size of each city's technology industry.

What services companies state

Custom software development is the most common service, stated by 354 of the 401 profiles (88%). AI development follows with 314 (78%), then web development (224), mobile app development (206), SaaS development (186) and cloud solutions (184). IT consulting appears on 95 profiles, cybersecurity on 87, UI/UX design on 83, DevOps on 80 and data engineering on 72. Game development is the rarest, at 7.

A note on AI claims

A company listing AI development as a service is a statement, not proof of capability. On 186 profiles, our team has accepted at least one statement from the company's own website about its AI services, shown on the profile with its source link and labelled as company-stated. TechRank does not test whether the work is good. The Methodology page explains how evidence is handled and what it does not show.

Technologies and industries

Technologies were listed for 203 of the profiles. Among those, React appears on 124, Node.js on 103, AWS on 103 and Python on 101, followed by Next.js (76), Flutter (74), OpenAI (65), Azure (64), React Native (56) and Docker (54). Industries were listed for 201 profiles: fintech appears on 121, e-commerce on 106, healthcare on 105, education on 65, manufacturing on 43 and logistics on 38. Companies that did not name technologies or industries on their websites are not counted in these figures.

How old the companies are

A founding year is stated on 93 profiles, ranging from 1992 to 2026. Of those, 56 were founded in 2015 or later and 8 before 2005. Because most profiles do not state a year, this should not be read as the age profile of the whole directory.

Limits of these numbers

The directory is built from company websites we could read, so companies with little public information, or with sites that block automated checks, are underrepresented. 17 profiles state a headquarters outside India alongside an Indian office. The counts will change as profiles are added and updated, and each profile shows when it was last checked. If you see a count that looks wrong for your company, you can claim the profile and send a correction.
