Who is responsible

TechRank, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India is responsible for the personal data described here. See the grievance officer details at the end of this page.

What we collect, and when

Browsing the public site collects nothing about you that we can read: we do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Companies you save with the heart button are remembered in your own browser's storage, on your device only.

When you send a form we collect what you type into it: newsletter (email address), contact (name, email, message), listing request (company name, website, contact email, phone, city, size, services, description), profile claim (name, role, email, optional evidence), quote request (name, email, optional phone, the service, budget and timeline, and your description), review (name, role, email, service, rating, title, text, optional budget and duration) and privacy request (name, email, details).

Company owners and TechRank staff who have an account also give a name and email, a password (stored only as a one-way hash), a two-factor secret, and generate sign-in and security records that include IP address and device details.

To limit spam and abuse we keep a keyed one-way hash of the IP address with form submissions and rate-limit counters. We do not store the address itself with them. Our hosting provider's server logs may record IP addresses for security.

Why we use it

To run the site and answer you; to confirm that you control an email address before acting on a form; to review claims, listing requests and reviews; to pass a quote request to the company you chose; to send the emails you asked for or that a form needs (confirmation links, decisions, the newsletter you subscribed to); to keep the service safe and prevent fraud and abuse; and to meet legal duties. We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it.

Who sees it

Our team reads form submissions and decides on them.

A quote request is read by our team first and, if it is genuine, passed only to the company you chose. Each hand-over is recorded. After that the company holds its own copy, which we cannot take back.

A review is shown with your role only. Your name and email are never published. The company reviewed does not see them.

We use service providers to host the site and to send email, under their terms. They process data for us and may not use it for their own purposes.

We disclose data to authorities only where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep form submissions and account records until they are no longer needed or you ask us to erase them; we do not yet delete them automatically after a fixed period. Unconfirmed submissions may stay in our system until our team clears them. Database backups roll off within about two weeks of a deletion. Sign-in and security records are kept as long as they are needed to keep the service secure.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to erase it, or to stop us using it for something you agreed to (for example the newsletter), with the privacy request form at /privacy-request. We email a confirmation link to the address you give, so that nobody can ask for someone else's data; we start work when you confirm and aim to answer within 30 days. We cannot take back a quote request you asked us to pass to a company, and we keep sign-in and security records the service needs to stay safe. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the grievance officer below.

Children

TechRank is a business service and is not directed at children.

Changes

When we change what we collect or how we use it, we change this page and its date.
